Prevention in Our Communities

Our prevention programs educate the community, parents and children about the dangers of underage drinking, alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. We use research based strategies to:

  • Increase awareness
  • Provide coping strategies and resistance skills

  • Strengthen family bonds

A variety of prevention initiatives are offered on site, in the community, and in area schools, including:

  • Presentations to regional health classes
  • Peer prevention groups
  • Tobacco cessation programs
  • Strengthening Families Program
  • Positive Parenting Program
  • Coalition and task force meetings
